From Torbole you climb to Rovereto through the cycle path that runs along the provincial road until you arrive at Borgo Sacco to cross the Adige and continue north, through the countryside, until reaching the villages of Brancolino and Nogaredo.
It’s then time to go up to Pedersano (368m), a typical medium-sized lagarine village of morenic terrace, to reach Savignano (470 m) and continue on the dirt road leading to Malga Cimana (1174 m) where you can eat or stay overnight (no cash machine), placed on a small plateau between the valley of Cei and the Adige Valley. Turning to the right there is a panoramic spot on Vallagarina which you absolutely must see (Dosso Pagano). From Cimana, you’ll go down the other side towards Lake Cei (m 918), passing through the naturalistic path leading to the biotope Prà del Albi.
Lake Cei rests on morainic soil, its origin is given by a landslide and it houses a rich and paludal flora, it is 450 m long, 140 m wide and 7m deep. Above the valley of the same name is the little church of S. Martino in Trasiel considered one of the oldest churches in the area. In the lake the Monte Bondone range is mirrored, which includes Mount Stivo (m. 2045) and Mount Cornetto (m. 2138).
From Cei it turns towards Castellano (786 m.) Which is the highest village of Vallagarina where is also there is a castle, documented from the end of the 12th century and surrounded by the park of the village. From here, a 20% concrete descent leads to the restoration of dry walls returned to the community thanks to the patient intervention of humans. Reaching the “Pissavacca” waterfall, which is visible in winter as it is icy, we go into the village of Patone (604), a typical village of the Lagarina Mountain, we will arrive there, following the old route, in Castel Corno (836) manor of great charm built on the summit of an enormous rock obelisk, above the inhabited area of Lenzima, collected on the slopes of Mount Biaena.
Take the Nagustello to join the picturesque village of Nomesino (787), to reach Manzano (717), where the charming church of S. Apollonia (1646) is located, isolated from the village. Not far away is Corniano, an abandoned village where the little church of S. Agata stands in a panoramic position, and you arrive at Pannone area rich in cultivated vegetables, sought after products of Val di Gresta.
From here you go down to the bend that will take you to the Maso Naranch, where you will descend to Nago and Torbole passing from the church of San Tomé (m. 397) to the mount of Mount Creino.
This is a two day route. The tour includes an overnight stay at the Malga Cimana facility and then proceed toward Torbole. Good physical condition and a decent mastery of mountain bikes are necessary. Ascent from the bottom is pretty long, but with steep slope but never extreme.
