The Teodoro Island tour is an easy pedal-ride suitable for families with children.
It starts from via Campagnole, very close to the train station and runs along the cycle path leading to Borgo Sacco, suburb of Rovereto, on the bank of the Adige. Between the Middle Ages and the mid-1800s, it was an important mooring point for the rafts in Moia, so that it would allow commercial activities between Bolzano and Verona. On the first Sunday of June there is a re-enactment “A village and its river” during which you can follow the traditional ZATERADA on the Adige.
Leaving the village behind you cross the bridge on the Adige to continue, on a paved road, on the right side of the river until you reach a pleasant dirt road that runs along the river Adige.
Crossing the bridge you can safely go along the countryside near Calliano and Volano and then to arrive, across the cycling path , to the Didattica Fattoria “The island of Teodoro” belonging to a farm of the Community Murialdo in place S Giorgio, to see some animals (donkeys, rabbits, hens, goats) that are now unknown to children living in the city, the works related to them, to discover the flowering of the kernel and plant buds, and the pleasure of sowing. From here you can take the cycle path to Borgo Sacco to get to the starting point.
The route does not present great technical difficulties, it is a bicycle ride that takes place in two hours without stopping.
