This gourmet Wine Bike Tour is offered along a path that crosses the Vallagarina vineyards following their shape along the cycle tracks running on its banks. The tour starts from Rovereto and leads to the village of Nomi where you will visit the first cellar in a very special setting: a cave where you can taste delicious champagne together with delicious nibbles as an aperitif. You will then go down for lunch and wine tasting in a renowned Cantina Vinicola in the area, located in an old seventeenth-century manor house in Marano di Isera, located to the south, on the way back to Rovereto.
The two wineries have very different specifications and characteristics:
Sparkling Spirits Company – Nomi
“1901 is the year that the founder begins to produce wine. A historic brand with 30-year-old enology. In 1928 the company was handed over to the son Italo, who pushed with a great passion in expressing the potential of the Trentino territory, continuing the tradition to pursue a constant search for quality in wine production. The same quest for quality and improvement is handed over to the third generation with his son Paolo, who after completing his studies in oenology dedicates himself entirely to the first wine production and sparkling wine. Today, there are two sisters, Donatella and Chiara, who follow with passion and determination the evolution of the family company focused on the production of classic Trentodoc sparkling wines as the best expression of the area highly dedicated to sparkling wine production. “(Source website: www .pedrottispumanti.it)
Cantina De Tarczal – Marano di Isera
“The lands that we work now belonged to the Conti Alberti, an old and illustrious family of Trento, notably among others for having given birth to a Prince Bishop of the city of Trento. For more than a century, such lands have passed on to our family since the Countess Alberti brought them to dowry at Gèza Dell’Adami de Tarczal, Admiral of the Imperial Regia Austro-Hungarian Fleet and our direct ancestor. The company started its development in the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire when the Marzemino was on the court boards. “(Source website: www.detarczal.com)
The Tarczal Cellar is oriented to the production of fine red wines; It joins the typical farm activity, also an excellent restaurant “La Vineria”, where you can taste typical local dishes together with the company’s own wines, in a very impressive scenario: a centuries-old park where among the majestic trees and different plants you can serenely enjoy a quiet menu of all respect.
Technical notes:
Easy, not demanding either physically or technically. Suitable for a “slow life” style, for those who want to enjoy Vallagarina and its wonderful wines. Minor slopes
