This route, which winds through a real and true “route”, starting from Rovereto, coming back in the afternoon, is completely dedicated to the visit of the Castle of Buonconsiglio. The castle of Buonconsiglio is one of the most famous buildings in Trento and one of the most important monumental complexes of Trentino-Alto Adige. From the thirteenth century until the end of the XVIIIth residence of the bishops of Trento, it is composed of a series of buildings of different times, enclosed within a perimeter of walls in a slightly higher position than the city.
Castelvecchio is the oldest nucleus, dominated by a mighty cylindrical tower; at the southern end of the complex is Torre Aquila, which houses the famous Cycle of the Months, one of the most noteworthy pictorial cycles of the profane theme of the late Italian Middle Ages. The Magnificent Palace is the sixteenth-century extension in the forms of the Italian Renaissance, wanted by the Prince Bishop and Cardinal Bernardo Cles (1485-1539); It preserves an important Mannerist pictorial cycle in excellent state of preservation. At the end of the seventeenth century the Baroque Junta Albertiana was built. (Source: Wikipedia).
The visit will be illustrated by a well-prepared historical guide and capable of conveying all of the salient and interesting information of the historic building.
The tour includes a fully cycling route (both by bicycle and E-Bike) along the Sole Cycle path and along the cycle paths inside the city of Trento and Rovereto. There will be some refreshment stages at the Bicigrill along the way. The slope is virtually nothing given the low altitude covered through the distance of 26 km (going) and 26 km (return). It may be a bit more difficult to return, albeit in a slight downhill, due to the possible afternoon wind that is present in the spring and summer months (Ora del Garda). Attention should be paid to riding completely in single file in the group, given the remarkable attendance of cyclists in both directions of the cycle.
